Bright modern low-energy building with timber cladding, large windows and landscaped planting

About

Healthy. Efficient. Quiet.

Climovate designs learning and working environments where people thrive — through intelligent, low-energy climate solutions that improve wellbeing, reduce carbon emissions and eliminate unnecessary noise.

Our story

Why Climovate was born

Climovate was created from a simple belief: heating, cooling and ventilation should not be designed as separate systems.

For too long, buildings have been filled with individual pieces of plant, each solving one part of the problem. Ventilation systems bring in fresh air, heating systems replace lost heat, cooling systems deal with overheating, and additional fans are often installed within occupied spaces to make everything work.

We saw an opportunity to take a more holistic approach.

At Climovate, we consider the building as a complete environmental system, bringing together ventilation, heating, cooling and heat recovery so that each element works with the others rather than against them.

Our philosophy is passive first.

Whenever conditions allow, we use natural and passive ventilation to provide fresh air without unnecessary mechanical energy, or fan noise. Heating or cooling is introduced only when the building genuinely needs it.

Rather than simply exhausting valuable heat from a building, we can recover it centrally and use that energy to support the heat pump system. By presenting the heat pump with a warmer energy source, its operating conditions can be improved, helping to increase overall system efficiency and COP (coefficient of performance).

The same heat pump can also be used in reverse when cooling is required. Cooling can then be delivered directly to occupied spaces through cooling coils incorporated within the fresh-air inlets or through discreet fan coil units where greater cooling capacity is required.

The result is a simpler and more integrated building services strategy.

It means fewer fans and less plant within classrooms and occupied spaces, helping to reduce noise and remove the mixing of air (and pathogens) associated with many conventional mechanical systems. Fresh air can be delivered directly where it is needed, supporting better indoor air quality and creating quieter, more comfortable environments.

It can also mean less rooftop and external plant, simpler installations, fewer duplicated components and, ultimately, the potential for both lower capital costs and lower running costs.

The objective is straightforward: healthier, quieter and more energy-efficient buildings.

Buildings matter because they are where we spend most of our lives. They should support the people inside them — helping children to learn, people to work productively and occupants to remain comfortable and healthy throughout the year.

Climovate was founded on 20 years of experience within the building services and ventilation sector, supported by a degree in Building Services Engineering and a long-standing passion for reducing the environmental impact of buildings.

We are also proud to be a British company, developing new ideas and challenging established thinking in a market where we believe genuine innovation has been too limited for too long.

Our aim is not simply to manufacture another ventilation product, it is to rethink how buildings breathe, heat and cool. It is to bring systems together in a smarter, simpler and more sustainable way.

Our positioning

The quiet climate revolution

Most building ventilation systems are designed around equipment. Climovate designs around people. By combining natural ventilation, passive-first design, heat recovery and innovative heat pump integration, we create healthier indoor environments while dramatically reducing energy consumption.

What we believe

Four principles that guide every design

Healthy Buildings

  • Fresh air improves wellbeing, concentration and attendance
  • Better indoor air quality
  • Lower CO2 levels
  • Improved cognitive performance
  • Reduced airborne contaminants

Energy Efficiency

  • Passive-first solutions before mechanical intervention
  • Reduced fan energy
  • Lower heating demand
  • Heat recovery innovation
  • Reduced carbon emissions

Acoustic Comfort

  • Learning and working require quiet spaces
  • No classroom fans
  • Reduced background noise
  • SEN-friendly environments
  • Improved concentration

Intelligent Innovation

  • Engineering that challenges conventional HVAC thinking
  • Exhaust Air Roof Terminals incorporating heat pump technology
  • Natural ventilation heat recovery
  • Passive-assist ventilation
  • Integrated heating and cooling

Our manifesto

We believe buildings should support people, not distract them.

We believe fresh air should not come at the expense of energy efficiency.

We believe people learn and work better in quiet spaces.

We believe the best engineering is often the least noticeable.

By combining natural ventilation, intelligent heat recovery and innovative climate technology, we create buildings that are healthier, quieter and more sustainable.

This is Climovate.
